Getting to Rhodes
The island of Rhodes is one of Europe's best holiday destinations in the Mediterranean and one of Greece’s most visited island. You can get to Rhodes by plane or by sea. There are daily flights to Rhodes from all over the world as well as several domestic flights daily from Athens and Thessaloniki operated by Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines. In summer there is also a good number of daily charter flights to Rhodes from the majority of European countries. Ferries from Athens (from Piraeus) and lots of other Greek islands leave daily. Flights to Rhodes
In addition to regular domestic and international flights there are charter flights to Rhodes from plenty of countries. The Rhodes Diagoras International Airport is situated 16km southwest of Rhodes Town. There is plenty of public transport from/to the airport with about 30 buses daily to/from the city of Rhodes.

If your holiday time is limited then travelling by plane is the best way to move around Greece in summer. The important thing to remember is to book a flight in advance as they get sold pretty quickly in high season.
Ferries to Rhodes
Rhodes is a major port for ferry services and boat trips with sea links to the other islands, to the Greek mainland, as well as to Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, Italy and Turkey. Scheduled ferries run regular daily services to and from Piraeus (Athens) but one should note that the ferry journey from Piraeus to Rhodes can take about 16 hours.
